Juan Pena
- Director of Admissions
Juan is the first call at MPower Wellness. He runs the benefits verification, explains how PHP and IOP differ in day-to-day commitment, and helps people figure out which level of care fits their work and family schedule before anyone signs anything. When someone needs stabilization or residential care to start, he coordinates that placement through MPower’s referral network rather than pushing an outpatient fit that won’t hold.
He came into this field through his own recovery. Since then, he has worked inside treatment settings, spoken at community events around Chester County, and sponsored people individually. That background changes how a first call goes. He has made one himself.

Primary Therapist
Hi, my name is John Nguyen, and I have been a therapist for 10 years. I am a proud graduate of Chestnut Hill College, where I earned my BA in psychology with a minor in biology in 2012. I continued my education at Delaware Valley University, graduating with my MA in counseling in 2017. My theoretical orientation includes CBT, DBT, reality therapy, and motivational interviewing. My interest in counseling began after I had a stroke in 2004, and I have been in recovery for 21 years. I am passionate about working with adults and teens who struggle with addiction and mental health complications. My goal as a therapist is to help my clients increase their awareness mentally, emotionally, and physically, to explore opportunities for change that can enhance their lifestyle and quality of life. In my free time, I enjoy sports (GO BIRDS!), cars, aviation, and stand-up comedy.
